More About Dee
I'm the Founder of Eat Well Chef, a company I created to empower and inspire individuals to cook healthy, delicious food. My passion for food and nutrition prompted me to obtain a Culinary Nutrition degree from Johnson & Wales University and complete a dietetic internship at Meredith College. Now I'm a practicing Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist in North Carolina.
I've worked in a variety of settings including a nutrition private practice where I helped people improve their health using motivation techniques, education where I taught culinary and nutrition classes at Johnson & Wales University and the Art Institute, and the restaurant industry where I learned the tricks of the trade. I've even cooked for the U.S. Ski Team at the 2018 Pyeongchang Olympics where I created healthy, delicious food to fuel the athletes for optimal performance.
My Breast Cancer Journey
In 2020, I was diagnosed with breast cancer which put my whole life in perspective. Now, I'm a proud survivor with a passion for helping people live their healthiest and best lives to combat breast cancer and other chronic diseases.
I'm a regular presenter with the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition where I lead a quarterly Cookbook Club and provide nutrition education. I'm also a cooking class instructor for the Yes2Health program that supports anyone with risk for breast cancer, other cancers, cardiovascular disease, hypertension, high cholesterol, diabetes or pre-diabetes. In addition I provide complimentary nutrition services to those undergoing breast cancer treatment.
